NIST Time Servers

The US Time Server Foundation is proud to make avail­able to the US Public the following NIST-Operated Stratum-1 US National Time Servers as a free public-service, and for NSPD-39 Outage Oversight as part of the US National Critical Infrastructure.

Time Server Use Limitations and Agreements

In addition to the Website Use Terms, the use of the service demonstrates your willingness and agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions including any FOIA and number of time settings per hour restrictions [of up to 4 (four) iburst sessions per hour]. Likewise the hard coding of these addresses into any commercial products is strictly forbidden.

Anyone using this site consents to their IP addresses being captured, their use logged, and for Certichron or the US Time Server Foundation to contact them periodically regarding changes or status of the Foundation's NIST Time Server Programs. Likewise, the use of this service is consent to the application of NTP Kiss of Death (KoD) services to prevent abuse of the time servers, and respecting the network route limitations for the UDP/IP based time service itslef. Users are limited to a 1000m range limitation as such and these use limitations will be enforced by contacting your ISP or internet service provider to force changes in your service for any abuses herein.

The Foudation believes that everyone has a right to access these time servers within a manner and realm where that access does not prevent or impact the accesing of these sites by US Businesses and Citizens local to their operations. They serve a key role in the US Critical Infrastructure and will be procteded as such.



Register with the Foundation


Users are encouraged to register with the Certichron MANTIS site to get notices of changes or planned downtime and to allow you to register requests or service outage compliants.
