The United States Time Server Foundation

The United States Time Server Foundation
As part of its public service initiaitves Certichron is proud to host the US Time Server Foundation , a not-for-profit entity who's sole charter is to provide the free access to regionally located NIST-calibrated Stratum-1 Servers.

Digital Evidence is now a part of our daily lives!

As more and more of our daily lives becomes paperless in nature, the time of those events becomes a key component of an evidence practice. The exclusive use of the offiicial US  timebase is necessary to comply with  US and Internatonal Legal Metrological Agreement's. Further, in today's world we need to use thise same source of time for all of our devices so that the evidence model is seamless across the full-circle of our operations.

Foundation Charter

The purpose of the US Time Server Foundation is fund and operate regionally deployed Public Access Time Servers which are calibrated by the NIST calibration laboratory. This will include the deployment of both NIST-Provided and Certichron-Provided Time Servers. These ensemble systems are key assets in creating reliable digital evidence models and are a necessary feature of any trusted computing or electronic commerce event.

Regionally Deployed instances of US-calibrated Time Sources

These systems are deployed to form regional ensembles which are calibrated by NIST through the operation of the local NIST Servers, to be traceable to the US National Standard kept at NIST's Boulder Colorado Laboratory. Monthly reports showing drift, skew and jitter in the time-standards are made available through Certichron and allow the creation of Court admissible and qualified evidence models for all uses.

Foundation Users and other Interested Parties are encouraged to register with the Certichron MANTIS site to get notices of changes or planned downtime and to allow you to register requests or service outage compliants.

National Security and Public Interests

The US Time Server Foundation works with the general public and the Industry-partner's to address American Readiness requirements specified under HSPD-7 and it's associated Executive Orders and Administrative Policies. The foundation provides the key resource for building a uniform 'National Evidence' model, the same reliable time-source... everywhere. This effort is seen as a key step in protecting and strengthening the Official US National Critical Infrastructure.

Protocols Supported

Mechanically the services of the US Time Server Foundation provide unlogged, anonymous public access time services over the NTP, Daytime, and Time Protocols.

This resource is a key component of the US National Critical Infrastructure and as such services everyday use as well as First Responder's and Government User's
